This artwork embodies the tension between abstraction and figuration; its reductive qualities show the extreme abstraction and rhythmical shapes of the human form with no attempt to imitate the naturalistic forms in nature. The triangular and cubistic human figures, created towards the end of the artist’s life, symbolise the mystical union between man and woman.
